Garth is a lovely house, ideally situated in Betws-y-coed. Beautifully maintained and really well equipped, it was obvious how much care and attention to detail the owners put into the property – creating a lovely home from home. We were made to feel very welcome and had a superb week; and are already planning our next break at Garth! Many thanks!

A booking cancellation at Garth gave us a fabulous opportunity for a short stay in this area of North Wales that we love. Finding somewhere to stay at short notice in the area around Betws y Coed seemed impossible this year, we were so lucky to find Garth, a better place we couldn’t have wished for. Garth cottage itself is beautifully decorated, furnished and equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We thought Garth was exceptionally well placed within Betws y Coed, a very short stroll from the shops and restaurants. We had a lovely welcome from the owners, they are very knowledgeable about the area and share that knowledge with you, they are Snowdonia Ambassadors. Garth is also part of the We’re Good to Go scheme, it certainly gives us peace of mind that the owners work hard for us to have a safe stay. We would love to come and stay at Garth again and will be recommending Garth to friends and family, thank you so much for your hospitality Helen and Geraint. Wishing you all the best, Richard and family.

This was our first trip to Snowdonia, Eryri as we now know it, we could not have picked a better place to stay than Garth. Garth is a very pretty cottage, very nicely decorated, really well equipped and a surprise hamper of goodies on our arrival. There is ample parking at the property accessed via a wide driveway, parking beside Garth makes packing and unpacking the car easy. Helen has put so much thought into making Garth a safe place to stay during this pandemic I really must applaud her for putting in so much effort. We were so delighted with Garth and the warm welcome we received that we’re planning on returning next year.

Fantastic location with large parking area and easy walking distance to heart of village. Access to forest cycle routes and walks just around the corner and easy access to all main roads to major attractions. Hosts incredibly friendly and helpful and recommended great local mountain bike trails and advice regards local breweries, restaurants and attractions to suit. We had a wonderful reception from the Hosts, the property was immaculate and the fabulous Hamper and supplies were a thoughtful and very welcome surprise! We would both definitely return and are already looking at 2022!!

We have done 12-15 holiday cottage rentals – we’ve not had a bad one but Garth cottage was such a good experience I felt compelled to write my first TripAdvisor review. The owners Helen & Geraint met us on arrival and explained the facilities etc. They were very welcoming and friendly. It was immediately obvious that they put a lot of effort into cleaning and maintaining the cottage – it was totally spotless. There are extra Covid measures in place but I suspect this is their normal high standard anyway. The cottage is semi-detached and has a new large driveway with gates that you close after driving in. Just metres from the Pont-Y-Pair Bridge in the centre of Betws (the ideal location as a base for exploring Snowdonia and North Wales). The decor in the house is modern but still maintains the character of the cottage. Kitchen was compact but contained everything you could want for a weeks stay. Useful extension/utility room for wet coats and boots (you are not likely to go a full week in North Wales without some rain!). Cosy lounge with 2 comfortable sofas, modern large TV and sound bar. There is a wood burner in the large fireplace but we had no cause to light it as the weather was still warm and there is central heating throughout the house. The dining room table was already set with plates and cutlery. A lovely surprise was a hamper on the table containing wine, Ribena, local cheese (Black Bomber – our favourite coincidentally), chocolates, biscuits, coffee and tea etc. I understand they tailor the welcome hamper depending on the visitors e.g. couples or families with younger children. Comfortable double bed in one room and twin singles in the other. Nice shower room with very powerful shower. Pretty back garden with seating – unfortunately we didn’t have much time to spend in the garden though. We would love to stay here again and would not hesitate in recommending Garth to either similar sized families (2 adults and 2 children (6 and 8 in our case)), or 1 or 2 couples. Thank you again Helen & Geraint .

Extremely well appointed and equipped cottage although there’s reduced cutlery, due to current Covid regulations, with the dishwasher this is not an inconvenience. Also pillows & duvets are rested & washed between visitors. There’s also plenty of hand sanitiser, surface wipes, gloves & Dettol products aplenty to ease any minds that maybe concerned. Helen & Geraint gave us as warm a welcome as is presently allowed & provided fresh flowers & a lovely hamper containing: tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, cheese, jam & several other items. The driveway was finished hours before our arrival and gives more than ample parking. The garden is a delight with a decked seating area showing a wonderful vista. We had siskins, goldfinches & a variety of other feathered friends visit. Stunning river walks are nearby, Fabulous!!!

Treated my wife and I to a well earned short break. What a terrific little place it is too. Really well situated on a quiet road very convenient to shops and restaurants just over the bridge. The cottage was perfect for us, so clean and well kept. Despite the short day light hours and entertaining weather we packed in some stunning walks around Beddgelert and Cwm Idwal, rounded off using the wonderful log burner. The Owners made us very welcome and settled in, perfect getaway!

What an amazing stay we had in Garth Cottage. The heart warming welcome by the Owners was the best we ever had. The cottage is extremely well equipped, very nice decor and the best quality bed linen and towels. From the cottage it is a very short walk to all the facilities down town, shops, restaurants and supermarket. Exploring Snowdonia from Garth cottage is very easy, no matter what road you take, within five minutes you are in the most pretty surroundings and within half an hour you can start the nicest hikes up to mount snowdon. We definitely recommend you to visit the Aber falls, Bodnant Garden and to do the hike to Aberglaslyn and Cwm Bychan at Beddgelert and do not forget to spend a day hiking the Llwybr Llyn Idwal path.

The Owners are such wonderful people, they really make you feel at home. The house has everything you could wish for. Washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven, coffee machine, fantastic beds, television with netflix option (so if you have an account you can log in), towels, bathrobes and slippers, cleaning stuff so you don’t have to buy it yourself and off course an amazing view through the kitchen window. Every morning when I made myself a cup of tea I could see the sheep grazing, no better way to start the day! So the only thing you need to take along is your clothes and your holiday spirit. The town Betws Y Coed was like a fairytale, the house is literally 1 min away from the old stone bridge and its waterfall. When you cross the bridge all the shops are within reach. Everyday we walked to the waterfall, stood there for a minute or 2 just to look at its beauty and then towards the bakery to buy pasties and have breakfast at home. There is really nothing bad to say about this house, the town and the owners of this lovely house. I miss it already.

Perfect location. Perfect cottage. Garth is a beautiful cottage – beautifully decorated and very well equipped. It’s clear that the property is loved and looked after as if it were home. It had everything we needed and more. The personal welcome and handover was much appreciated and useful and the knowledge that it was ok to text any queries throughout our stay was reassuring. Welcome hamper was delicious! Garth was perfectly located for us. A very short walk into town for pub, restaurants, coffee, shops etc. A wealth of activities and places of interest within a short drive plus public transport options. North Wales has so much to offer – a week wasn’t long enough. Thank you Helen for all your attention to detail and for your interest in ensuring we had a fantastic holiday in every way.

The cottage has a superb location in Betws-Y-Coed. Way marked trails start 1 minute away from the cottage and there are numerous other walks starting within 10 – 15 minutes walk.
